At the present time, we have three schooling horse trials scheduled for 2013 in Southern Pines. The levels offered are grasshopper, beginner novice and novice. The cross country courses are meant to build confidence in horse and rider, and therefore are on the straightforward side for each of the levels, with the majority of obstacles below maximum height. The terrain is more challenging as it is hilly.
Each farm has a full array of cross country obstacles, including banks, ditches, and water in addition to the “usual fare” of verticals and oxers. However, we will not use any jumps in the lower levels which should overface any horses and riders who have entered the appropriate level.
Here is an opportunity to compete in a low key atmosphere over well built courses, and, (at least
weather permitting!) over good footing.
If there is any question about the weather, please check this web site (home and this page) and Facebook
for changes or postponements.
